being those of the HOBBIT system. As it works by intercepting
all output to the screen to check for the new file-handling
commands it does mean that it is incompatible with
“Toolkit”-like extensions to BASIC. Also the program resides in
RAM from 0C82, so there are potential conflicts with any of your
USR routines. These are minor niggles compared with the
advantages gained.
I am quite happy with this system and it will do me until I
can afford those disks. There are a few shortcomings but if you
remember that, like all tape systems this is serial and so there
are finite times between the first and last file, and you can
put up with the frustration of the “M” command and its
directory, then it is worth considering.
