seems likely to me that Rory O’Farrell will write the definitive review of the
compiler, and tell you all the things I should have, so I am going to change
the subject, leaving you with a free gift in the form of a useful Pascal
procedure that is all my own work. It is not particularly elegant, and is
probably not the best way to do what it does, but it does have the great merit
that it does work. It also proves that you can learn Pascal without having to
